To get over his parents' death, PHILIPP (21) takes a trip to Mallorca, retracing memories of an untroubled childhood. After a car accident, he loses his short-term memory and wakes up in a retirement home, where he falls in love with the nurse MAYA (30). Although he finds the odd residents more than strange, he stays and befriends the old lady JULIE (85). She, too, seems absorbed in her past – but unlike her, Philipp still has his whole life in front of him. Philipp gets deeper and deeper into Julie's drama and only finds salvation when he finally accepts death as a part of life.
